Nationwide Recall of Schreiber Foods’ Cream Cheese Products Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

Schreiber Foods, a Wisconsin-based company, has initiated a voluntary nationwide recall of store-brand cream cheese spreads sold at Aldi, Hy-Vee, Schnucks, and Hornbacher’s due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall stems from a supplier notifying Schreiber Foods that the whey protein concentrate used in their cream cheese products might be contaminated.

The recall encompasses a wide variety of cream cheese products, including whipped cream cheese spreads, plain cream cheese spreads, and cream cheese snack mixes. Consumers are urged to check the UPC codes and best-by dates on their cream cheese and discard or return any of the following affected items to the store of purchase for a full refund:

• Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread (8 oz): UPC No. 4099100101881 with best-by dates of August 30, 2024 through September 4, 2024.

• Happy Farms Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread (8 oz): UPC No. 4099100101744 with best-by dates ranging from July 19, 2024 through August 25, 2024.

• Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread (12 oz): Best-by date of October 1, 2024.

• Hy-Vee Whipped Cream Cheese Spread (8 oz): Best-by dates of August 7, 2024 and August 14, 2024.

• Schnucks Whipped Cream Spread (all sizes): UPC No. 4131858005 with a best-by date of August 8, 2024.
