Kremlin Denies Involvement in French Railway Sabotage



The Kremlin has dismissed Western media speculation that Russia was behind a series of attacks against the French railway system. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov referred to these accusations as “just the latest fakes – more unsubstantiated accusations.” The sabotage caused significant disruption to France’s train network, particularly as it occurred just hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. While some Western media outlets suggested Russia’s involvement, others pointed towards left-wing activists as the more likely culprits.






France’s Interior Minister, Gerald Darmanin, has stated that they suspect members of far-left groups were behind the sabotage of the rail network. An activist connected to an ultra-left movement was even arrested in northern France.
